Our Tuition is and has always been designed to encourage famlies to participate in our Owner Builder Classes!

Tuition Reduction Plan (Take advantage of this!) :

For a Two Week Workshop, the tuition for an individual is $850.00. For one accompanying relative, the tuition is $250.00!

For a Four Week Workshop, the tuition for an individual is
$1550.00. For an accompanying relative, the tuition is still - $250.00!

A $200.00 Deposit per student Registering is required and is non-refundable.

Upon Registering, a Letter of Acceptance will be sent along with a Tool List and a Log Building Manual with dates confirmed.

The Balance of tuition is due sixty days (60) prior to the start of your workshop. Students are encouraged to Register as early as possible as planning for your attendance requires a lot of time.

Late Registrations:  Late Registrations need to remit balance of tuition at
the time of Registering for a class unless prior
arrangements are made with the, school in advance.

Anyone wishing to Register later than two weeks (2) prior                               to a desired workshop start date will be charged an
additional 20% and must be paid prior to start of class.

The Host Program allows individuals, families and organizations to Host the Lasko School of Log Building at their site, with their log building project as the class project!

The classes will be for 2 to 4 weeks depending on the project and the hosts needs, and will have 60 to 80% of the log "shell" completed or more!

The Host Fee for a Two Week Class is $4,500.00. The graduating students of our classes recieve higher concideration because preparing for a class will be a snap once they have participated in one them selves.

The Host Fee for a Four Week Class is $9,000.00. This type of class will only be available for larger projects and involve a career oriented student body.

The Host Fee Guarantees we come to the Host's site and build with the owner no matter the number of students and classes are scheduled one year ahead of time to allow for ample planning and promotion of the classes. We may waive this under some circumstances.

The Host Program is not intended to provide a completed log "shell" as we can not be sure a year in advance how many students will attend, or who they are or their ability to do so. Generally the classe sizes  are always at least 6 - 8 students. Thats a very comfortable size class and more than 15 can be hard to have enough to do for them.

Host Hospitality and ability to provide certain basic needs met for the students is another big concideration for selecting participants too. Adversity does build character, but a shower and a toilet are very important - with tempoary provsions being required - like a Port-a Potty and access to water. We help with that for ideas.

We are very excited about finally making arrangements to locate the school South of Bloomington, Indiana and just out side of a small town called Harrodsburg and very near Nashville, Indiana in Brown County!

We started in the Fall of 1991 with classes at West Boggs Park near Loogootee, Indiana and quickly became a traveling school, going where we were sponsored in one capacity or another. Often we have been Hosted by former students to help them get a great start on their handcrafted log home project. The dream of finally owning our own land to support a custom log building enterprise in conjunction with teaching a schedule of classes is getting closer and closer!

For now, we are going to be locating a few miles South of Bloomington, Indiana and a town called Harrodsburg at 4575 West Popcorn Road, a scant 12 minutes from Mall area on 37 in Bloomington, Indiana and 25 minutes from down town Nashville, Indiana. Some of the changes we will be implementing right away will be the building of three framed structures for use as a shower cabin, a bunkhouse cabin and a cabin for preparing meals for the students. These framed structures will be replaced with handcrafted log cabins built during hands-on Log Building Workshops starting there this year!

The move to do so is to make it more convenient for the students to attend with a warm, comfortable, and dry place to sleep, a place to prepare meals with stove and refridgeration provided by the school and also hot showers at the end of the day.  A small log framed post and beam pavilion to shelter a handcrafted log picnic table will also be done as well as a place to gather around a camp fire most nights. Cabins will be lit at night by kerosene lamps and heated by wood burning stoves.

Students will be free to just bring their own food they want, their clothes and tools, and certainly a cooler for their own beverages! There are restaurants nearby and also hotels available.  It is our hope we can provide this at such a low cost to the students it is more affordable than coming to stay without these amenities.

The cost for an individual to attend a log-building workshop has been $850.00 each. That person can bring a companion at an additional $250.00; in fact, the companion can attend the four-week workshops with you also for the same amount of $250.00.
The tuition for an individual to attend a four-week log-building workshop is $1550.00.

All students are required to bring a set of tools and safety gear we have listed for them on our website, those attending with an accompanying pal can share their set of tools. All participants must have their own safety gear for obvious reasons.

The second person discount is intended for relatives to participate, i.e.  husband-wife, father-son cousins and so on.

Please call ahead for attendance openings so arrangements can be made whether or not you are related, please call 1 800 292-8043..

The cost to each attending participant for hot showers and bunkhouse / cabins, and kitchen cabin, in addition to the above tuition schedule, is FREE. (Place to keep, store and prepare own meals, hot showers and sleeping accommodations.)

Individual students for two weeks with accommodations =  $850.00,

Four weeks with accommodations = $1550.00

A two week companion = $250.00, a four week companion = $250.00

(Often what happens is the two attending together split it down the middle  so it's less expensive to come in pairs!)

Accomodations  - Cabin for storing and preparing meals, Hot Showers and use of Bunk                              house are free of charge. Bunk house will have four double bunks,
kerosene lamps and wood burning stove for heat.
                            (As space is available.)

All Participants are required to help with Daily work site clean up as well keep the cabins clean and neat with trash in designated containers provided. Parking of vehiles is also in designated areas.
Kitchen cooking, outdoor grilling and food preparation appliances are provided by the school , including Coffee Maker, toaster, griddle and crock pot, Microwave, gas stove w/oven and refridgerator and freezer.
